Tutoring since 2009 -- with Central Park Tutors, Tutorspree, and independently -- I have worked with students from top NYC schools, including:  United Nations International, Riverdale, Fieldston, Poly Prep, Brearley, Packer Collegiate, Brooklyn Tech, Beacon, and Winston Prep -- as well as students from NYU and post-college adults.

Currently working with NYC public-school students as program manager and teacher/mentor with The Brooklyn College Community Partnership, for five years I served as a regular short- and long-term substitute teacher at Friends Seminary, advancing curricula in Spanish, English, History, and Drama. I also taught a semester-long creative-writing workshop.

I have been an educator at St. John the Divine Cathedral, Abrons Arts Center, Kids Creative, and Brooklyn Heights Montessori School, as well as a tour guide at Lincoln Center, an immigration paralegal, a bilingual journalist, and a long-time theatre artist. In 2014-15, I co-created and co-taught PROJECTQUEST:PIMA a free, seven-month, exploratory program through the arts for NYC high-schoolers that culminated in an interactive, interdisciplinary, original performance.

I have taught and assisted many workshops for
performers, including at the Centro Cultural
Bertolt Brecht in Havana, Cuba, in 2017.
Since 2014 I have led the NYC Seed Group,
a hybrid performance-community endeavor
in relationship with the Open Program of the
Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas
Richards of Pontedera, Italy.

Recipient of AliveWire Theatrics'
A/M/P Residency and two LEIMAY-CAVE Fellowships, I participated on the panel “Interdisciplinary Performance: Process and Creation” at The David M. Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center, presented a paper on 600 Highwaymen at the Performance and Interactive Media Arts Symposium at CUNY Brooklyn College, and published writing in The Huffington Post, El Tiempo Latino, conectom, NYRemezcla, and the European Review of Cultural Studies, among others.

Jeremy worked with my son for two years as a tutor and he was terrific!  He engaged my son, interacting with him in creative ways when needed,  and then redirected him back to the work at hand.  Jeremy is smart, knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with, for the student and the parents. I would recommend him to anyone looking to help their child with homework, writing assignment or test preparation.  He’s a find!  ~ Mathew's mom
